32: St. Joseph Church

St. Joseph Church, known as the area's Irish Catholic church, was erected in 1929. Made of granite with limestone trim in Gothic Revival style, it is part of St. Andre Bessette Parish. Three churches serving the Catholic community in Laconia were merged in 2019, and all services are now being held at Sacred Heart Church on Union Avenue. This has left  the future of St Joseph Church at risk. A St Joseph Church Preservation Society was formed in 2019 and continues today to to try to preserve this historic building.
