Art from the Heart
1997
Ceramic, glaze and concrete
These four pillars are the result of the 1997 clay stomp, a shared activity commemorating the opening of the Elmhurst Art Museum. The 210 ceramic tiles made by the community were guided and cared for by artist and educator John Nester. Under his guidance, numerous artists helped fire and glaze the clay to memorialize this activity, as well as the many stories sculpted by the 500 individuals that participated.
