Pin Oak

Pin oaks are beautiful trees given their name by the thin “pin” like branches. Their leaves are very recognizable because of their glossy dark green color and shine. These long, sharp leaves belong to a massive tree that stands 50-70 ft tall and has a canopy that spreads out 40-60ft. Being another deciduous tree, pin oaks drop their leaves in the fall after they turn yellow to dark red. Their acorns fall during September and October. White tailed deer, wood ducks, and raccoons eat the acorns and are some of the animals that live by this tree.
