The man chosen to subdue the French abmitions in the Ohio River Valley was Major General Edward Braddock. He had served in the British army since age 15. He was appointed Commader-in-Chief of all His Majesty's Forces in North America in 1754. His gruff personality bristled in contact with the colonists. His army was not assembled in the most ideal fashion. Braddock struggled to work with the colonial governors for supplies, horses, wagons, fighting men, and funds.
