Hi all! Welcome to the University of Denver, we are so excited for you to visit campus on our Audio Tour.
DU is a mid-sized institution with about 5,700 undergraduate students and about 7,000 graduate students. We are a private university dedicated to the public good.
My name is Martine Gelb, and I am going to be your tour guide today.
I am from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and at DU I study Mathematics with minors in Psychology and Art History.
Outside of being a tour guide, I am involved in two student organizations: the Alpine Club, which focuses on getting students outside, and Divest DU, which works to make the University more sustainable. I’m also a barista at the on-campus coffee shop called Beans, which is run by students, for students.
Right now, we are standing next to Mary Reed Hall and University Hall. Mary Reed Hall, which has a tall brick tower and beautiful garden in front, is home to many of our administrative offices, and it used to be the campus library. Rumor has it, it is also haunted - good to know if you're interested in doing some ghost hunting…
University Hall, a light stone building which once housed the entire University, is now home to our registrar, bursar, financial aid and undergraduate admission offices.
Our next stop is Daniels College of Business, which you can get to by walking behind University Hall.
