Welcome!

Welcome to Georges Island, one of the 34 islands and peninsulas in Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park. Georges Island is owned and operated by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. Located seven miles from downtown Boston, this 39-acre island is home to Fort Warren, a National Historic Landmark. 

Georges Island offers a Visitor Center, restrooms, snack bar, and picnic tables. Check our website or with staff on island for seasonal program offerings. You can also learn more on your own by following this 50-minute, self-guided tour.

As you make your way around the fort, look for the Audio Tour logo on signs to indicate each stop.
