The Wildflower Meadow was designed to be an interactive environment where children and families can engage with native plants and wildlife. Mowed walking trails leading from the Playground make it easy for guests to explore this native landscape.
The meadow provides habitat for local wildlife year-round, featuring approximately 40 different native plant species, including perennials and native grasses. Plant diversity provides a long flowering season, both for aesthetic appeal and to provide nectar for local pollinators. The plants in this area are left standing throughout the winter, as many insects overwinter in the hollow stems. The seeds of these plants also attract flocks of birds during the cold winter months.
