A treehouse, bubble tables, and watering cans are just a few of the fun, hands-on activities that make the Children’s Garden of the liveliest areas of Dow Gardens!
The Dows provided their children with an engaging environment that sparked creativity, inspired a love of learning, and encouraged exploration and innovation. In an effort to continue that legacy, the Children’s Garden is an interactive outdoor learning environment designed to educate children about plants and where their food comes from. Guests of all ages are encouraged to engage with the edible landscape. During harvest season, guests may sample the fruits and vegetables, and even take one or two home – one per hand, please.
Educational programs are hosted in the Children’s Garden throughout the spring and summer. Our nationally-recognized Growin’ Gardeners program gives children the opportunity to harvest their own garden plot. Our Storytime program is offered on Fridays from 10:45 – 11:45 AM, May through August.
While you are visiting the Children’s Garden, be sure to say “Hi” to Sir Hamalot the pig and the donkey statues, Rose and Bud!
