Nestled amongst river birches and bayberry lies the Conservatory. Designed by Alden B. Dow in 1976, this uniquely shaped glass-walled building is home to many tropical plant varieties, including orchids, Ponytail palm, and Bromeliad. Seasonally blooming plants such as cyclamen and zinnia are also rotated throughout the year. For the month of December, the conservatory is home to a 13-foot poinsettia tree. The Conservatory is open to guests year-round. The warm, tropical environment offers a brief escape from the cold Michigan winters.
