Alden B. Dow, architect laureate and fifth child of Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow, designed the Dow Gardens Visitor Center in 1979 as part of a larger revitalization project to transform the gardens from a private residence to a public garden. Today, the Dow Gardens Visitor Center welcomes over 300,000 guests per year!
The Visitor Center features a gift shop, an exhibit gallery, and a photographic history of the Dow family. We encourage you to stop by the exhibit before beginning your journey through Dow Gardens.
