Maple, Armstrong Gold

Standing before you is the Armstrong Gold Maple, or Acer rubrum 'JFS-KW78'. This tree grows with a tight, columnar oval form due to its branches growing upwards at a steep angle. This shape makes it a great choice for planting along city streets. Just as other Red Maples are, this maple can withstand a variety of environmental conditions. In the mid-spring month of April, small red flowers appear, proceeded by red-winged seeds. The leaves of the Armstrong Gold Maple turn a bright golden-orange in the autumn. It traditionally reaches a mature height of 40 to 50 feet with a width of 10 to 15 feet.
