The Famous Building: 131 W. Main St.

The major building across the street was constructed in 1889 with bay windows on either side of the arched second story windows that remain. It was, for many years, the home of The Famous Department Store, a local favorite, and is still called the Famous Building by old timers, although J.C. Penney occupied it for decades and it is now the home of the local performing arts theatre, Main St. Live!
