Peer over the high retaining wall to admire the lovely exterior of the Bloom Mansion. Experts say it is Colorado’s finest remaining example of Second Empire architecture. The Bloom family continued to occupy it until well into the 1900s, but then it saw some bad days until it was saved and turned into a museum. The interior is furnished with many of the Bloom’s original pieces that were tracked down or donated by heirs. Painstaking research has led to exact duplication of wallpapers, drapes, and other details. The Victorians were gadget-mad and the house has many ingenious examples, which the guides point out and explain. Don’t miss this.
