This piece used Carrara marble, broken in shards, translucent, existing in its most natural form. The piece attempts to merge with the natural surroundings, yet its stark whiteness proves alien to the surrounding.
When the sun shines on the work, it functions as a sundial, a measure of time, an activation occurs within the piece, almost switching it on and off through the day.
This work responds to its surroundings within the church settings - its materiality exists with a middle space; existing in-between the natural folliage and the harsh forms of the grave stones. The material of this piece is as alien to the natural surroundings as the gravestones, yet it is some how appears more intrusive to the space. Slowly creeping in, each shard of marble personified in the form of a gathering.
