A collage using collected materials and refuse from of a recent house refurbishment. The work is inspired by the life of Annetta Pedretti, a cybernetic enthusiast and social activist from Bethnal Green. We connected through a shared interest in yurt building and her recent passing caused me to reflect on those values of hers which which I aspire to but often fail to uphold in my own life.
This is a humble celebration of Annetta’s craft and her fierce autonomy. Its making was an intuitive and meditative process; a cathartic antidote to the various shortcuts and periods of lazy consumerism I have recently given into, particularly in the context of refurbishing my home.
