Cottonland Castle

Yes, Chip and Joanna bought a "real" castle.  Cottanland Castle started construction in 1890 but never finished until about 1913.  The stones were moulded off of real stones from a castle in Scotland.  The castle is 3-stories with a sunken living room (a living room that is partially below ground - because back in those days, this was a way to keep your house cool.)  The castle is 6500 square feet with only 3 bedrooms.

Chip and Joanna have promised to restore the Castle to it's former glory.  They have even bought the building behind the castle which was a car dealership.

The castle has a state historical marker, so they will have to follow some rules... but lucky for us, Chip doesn't seem like a person that follows many rules.  So we'll see what happens.

In October of 2019, Magnolia opened up the castle to children in the neighborhood and passed out candies for Halloween.

And if you didn't already know this, the castle, will likely be the premier episode of their new television show in 2020 or 2021.
