Earle-Harrison House

Located at  - 1903 N 5th St, Waco, TX 76708.

After dating for a little over a year, Chip and Joanna married at the Earle-Harrison House in Waco on May 31, 2003.

Like many of their fixer-uppers, their wedding venue has a lot of history. Not only is it the oldest house in Waco, Texas, but it’s also the only restored antebellum building.

Built in 1858, the Earle-Harrison House is now surrounded by a spacious almost-6 acre enclosed garden that includes a 60 by 90 tent and double gazebo. The Greek Revival antebellum structure is quite imposing with its walk-through windows, verandas and spacious rooms. Its collection of Victorian furnishings and artifacts were gifts from Waco citizens, and descendants of the Earle and Harrison families.

The structure features nine cypress columns that wrap around the house with stunning exterior sheathing made from longleaf heart pine.

Weird things happened to Chip and Jo, even before they got famous.  Joanna wanted to take pictures with Chip in front of the rose gardens - that's what the venue is famous for.  Well, the night before their wedding, someone came in and chopped down all of the rose bushes.
