Welcome to the Innovation Studio, a space where students can pursue projects of their own interest as well as those that might arise in a variety of contexts. The Innovation Studio is similar in spirit to a markerspace, but emphasizes the hardware-software interface and supports students in developing a broad array of applications. For example, a science entrepreneurship group could develop a technology with high impact and commerical value here, such as an unobtrusive monitor coupled with a machine learning system that predicts the onset of a seizure. Students in a CMC institute might design and deploy innovative water usage monitors around campus and display a real-time visual summary at the Collins Dining Hall or on a mobile phone app.
