At the School of Art and Art History at UIC, we are committed to educating the next generation of artists, visionary scholars, creative thinkers, and innovators.

Our curriculum, public programs and engagement within communities support your growth as a fearless and ambitious artist and scholar, developing the critical tools you need to succeed in a global society.

Our School is the intellectual and creative home to some of the world’s most renowned artists and scholars. MacArthur geniuses, Guggenheim Fellows, Whitney Biennial artists and curators, and distinguished, internationally acclaimed art historians have all taught here. We cultivate a supportive creative communitywhere students can study art and art history intensively and forge lasting professional relationships with colleagues and teachers. We believe in the importance of interdisciplinary thinking and work, and blur the boundaries between critical thought and engagement.
