Quad

This is the Quad, a historic and common hangout spot for students whenever the weather is nice. 

It is a grassy area where it is common to find students playing frisbee or taking hammock naps, it used to be a lake! The lake took up almost all of the space between the buildings but was drained one night in nineteen twenty-four when the old Baldwin Hall caught fire and the fire department needed the water to put it out. The rubble from the building filled the dried out lake and we made the best of a bad situation by creating this awesome, peaceful, communal space.

Most students walk through the Quad almost every day and some days there are special events going on. Sometimes it’s KTRM, the student-run radio station, with giveaways and music to promote an upcoming concert. Other times, an organization will be selling barbeque or will have puppies from the animal shelter to play with. Granted, sometimes it is snowball fights, but that is what you get with Missouri weather!
