Baldwin Hall

Baldwin Hall reopened in 2017 after being closed for renovations and it is now a beautiful, modern building that has maintained much of its historic charm.

Baldwin Auditorium hosts many different types of performances and events. Over the years, this room has been packed when Olympian Shawn Johnson spoke, the Golden Dragon Acrobats performed during a Kohlenberg Lyceum performance, and the Student Activities Board hosted comedians Jimmy Fallon and Keenan Thompson. When you consider the many music rehearsals, talent shows, pageants and other events that happen every year, this stage stays quite busy.

Baldwin Hall is home to more than just this space, however. On the main level, it houses the Study Abroad Office, Center for International Students, and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Upstairs are classroom spaces and faculty offices used by the English, linguistics, history, and foreign languages programs. With other spaces dedicated to foreign language group tutoring, private study spaces for group projects, and the publishing facility for Windfall, the student-run literary magazine, many students find they spend a lot of time here.

The Center for International Education works with the over 400 international students from over 50 countries who attend Truman to make sure they feel welcomed here. The Study Abroad Office assists students who are interested in study abroad programs. With over 600 programs to choose from, every student can find a program that meets their needs. A Truman education sets each student up for success in a globalized world.

The Center for Diversity and Inclusion provides a support system for underrepresented students by creating a campus environment that nurtures students academically, socially, culturally, and personally. The CDI aims to foster an environment commited to diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. Programs from this office include the Leadership Summit, Lavender Graduation for LGBTQ+ students, and the annual diversity retreat.

Students are here in Baldwin Hall for convocation on their first day as Truman students, throughout their educational journey, and on commencement, their first day as Truman alumni.
