Agricultural Fields and Working Farm

Staten Island is a model for conservation-compatible farming. The Nature Conservancy manages more than 9,000 acres here, where corn and winter wheat are grown in ways that provide food and roosting habitat for cranes, geese, and ducks.

These fields demonstrate that agriculture and wildlife can thrive side by side.
