The MINI Coupe was launched in 2011 and is the first two-seater in the brand’s model range. It was joined by a convertible version called MINI Roadster in 2012. The Coupe is based on the MINI Cabriolet, but with only two seats allowing a bigger trunk space of 9.9 cubic feet. The Coupe’s windshield is angled rearwards by 13 degrees more than the cabrio’s and the roof is 1.1 inches lower than the standard MINI Hatch, giving it a “helmet roof” design. The rear spoiler rises automatically at speeds above 50 mph or with the use of a toggle switch above the rear-view mirror. 

Marta fell in love with the MINI Coupe when she saw it at the Orlando dealership. She decided to have one built to her specs, this Lightening blue JCW Coupe with an automatic transmission. Marta has only added the English décor bits on the mirrors and other areas of the car, the Coco Mats (which she loves!) and several other things that make it hers. 

Marta said, “As a side story, once I joined the Upstate MINI group, Jim Milliken was jealous because I always drove it to the meetings (after all it is my car) so he started looking and bought himself a 2014 Roadster, so he didn’t have to ride “bitch” (we are also motorcycle riders).   But now when we go to the meetings, we almost always go in the Roadster style JCW it is a 100-mile trip most of the time.”
