Drive the Trace at 401.4

This next location is one of the highlights on the parkway. At milepost 401 point 4 you can actually drive on the Old Trace and see for yourself what this frontier road was like as it appeared in the early eighteen hundreds. The modern parkway follows the general route of the Old Natchez Trace. Engineering standards and the necessity of preserving sections of the Old Natchez Trace have made it impractical to follow it exactly. This is not recommended for RVs, Buses and low clearance vehicles.  You will travel about a mile on this section of the old trace.
