ZEBRA MORAY EEL

Shy and elusive, the zebra moray eel spends its days in crevices and under ledges on coral reefs. At night, zebra moray eels come out to hunt, prowling the reefs in search of crabs, clams and other hard-shelled prey.

Teeth Tell the Tale.

The unique teeth of zebra moray eels are a clear indicator of their specialized diet. Unlike most moray eels, which have sharp, pointed teeth for grabbing and holding slippery fish, zebra morays possess flat, plate-like teeth. These teeth are perfect for crushing the hard shells of their prey.
