Gazebo and Event Lawns

Once you have explored the treehouse, start making your way up the pathway to the gazebo.

Gazebo

The wooden gazebo was donated by Heartland Gazebos in 2006 and was the first structure in the gardens. Take a seat and stay a while in the secluded gazebo.  Listen and observe the birds in this area. The plants surrounding the gazebo have created a sanctuary for birds and wildlife. After watching the birds around the gazebo, continue to follow the wooded trails to an opening.

Event Lawns

The trails will lead you to the event lawns. There is a "large event lawn' to the north of the potager, and an "old event lawn" that is lined with crabapple trees just west of the gazebo.  The "old event lawn" is most often used for weddings because of the quaint atmosphere.  The crabapple trees and oval garden beds were originally planted by Mr. Monk himself.

We hope to eventually develop these areas into an ampitheater and event lawn to rent and host events.
