20 - The Point

From this spot, known as “the Point,” you have a clear view of the Cosumnes River and the entrance to Tihuechemne Slough. This peaceful area serves as a favorite roosting and feeding habitat for great blue herons and egrets, which can often be seen standing gracefully along the water’s edge or flying overhead. The rich wetlands here provide abundant fish and amphibians, supporting these elegant wading birds throughout the year.
