Horsechestnut, Double White

This is the Double White Horsechestnut, or Aesculus hippocastanum 'Baumannii'. It is a exceptional specimen among its species due to its profuse, showy blooms and seedless nature. Its large panicles bear double white flowers with subtle red and yellow tones, making it a striking sight in spring. Unlike other horsechestnuts, it produces no seeds, making it a preferred choice for urban street planting. The tree matures to a height of 50 to 60 feet and spreads 35 to 40 feet wide, forming a broadly oval shape. In autumn, its foliage turns a bright yellow.
