The curtains are original, the furniture as well. The wallpaper is a close match to the original. Ruby Boyer was a collector… she collected hats, plates and salt and pepper shakers. Her hats are now vintage. Ruby Boyer had a warm cheerful personality… excellent qualities in the wife of a country doctor. She loved people, but she also loved cats. one time she had 19 cats living in a building in the backyard, where the buggy and the model-T car are kept. She had a fan that ran in the summer in that “capture” to keep the cats cool and she had a stove going in the cat house during the winter so her beloved kitties wouldn't freeze. The wooden box on the dresser engraved with ruby’s name was made by Bill Boyer, one of Dr. Boyer’s two sons from his first marriage. Bill made the box from a branch of a walnut tree that was knocked off the tree during a windstorm. The tree was located in the backyard of this clinic.
