Conrad, a character from Ordinary People who tries to kill himself, repeatedly says “Keep moving, keep busy, everything will fall into place, it always does” as a mantra to keep himself going in life. Living is hard work. We wear ourselves rough with each new experience that is added to our years. But this mantra doesn’t always have to be as driven. Sometimes the best we can muster up is an apathetic “I guess I’ll just keep moving.” But even this resolve to just keep going can be a great benefit to our safety. Each day survived is another lived.
