T. Bayles Minuse

T. Bayles Minuse, of Stony Brook, came from a ship building family. A banker and businessman, T. Bayles owned the lumber yard in Stony Brook and the D.T. Bayles hardware store. Ward Melville approached him to be his right hand man to build Stony Brook Village because of T. Bayles’ personal and professional connections to the area. He helped make Ward’s vision for the village into a reality. They collaborated on creating the original Crescent and Market Square locations. T. Bayles was a consultant for the Stony Brook Community Fund (now Ward Melville Heritage Organization) for over 40 years at which time he retired and lived out his life in Old Field South.
