Dr. Natalie Assalone Nizza

Dr. Natalie Assalone (Dec 25, 1973 – April 8, 2019) was an internal medicine doctor (primary care physician) in Smithtown, NY, USA, who was affiliated with St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center, Stony Brook University Hospital, and North Shore University Hospital.

Shegraduated from New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999.As an internist, Dr. Assalone was revered for her warmth and attention to patients.

She passed away on April 8, 2019, surrounded by her family while receiving comfort care. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Phil Nizza, two teenage sons, and a large and loving family.

Greatly respected and deeply loved, Dr. Assalone’s family created the Natalie Assalone Nizza Memorial Award in her honor. It gives $5,000 annually to a graduating student who demonstrates dedication as a parent while simultaneously balancing their passion for medicine.
