The Nature Center

The starting point is the Nature Center, go ahead and enter if it is open.  

 Look around. What do you notice? Taxidermy! All these animals have been seen at the park. With some luck, maybe you will see one on your hike!

 Who is taller? You or the black bear? ___________

Here, you can also meet our animal ambassadors, Ned, an ornate box turtle, and Toro, a bullsnake.

Go to the front porch and take some time to apply sunscreen and bug spray as needed. Do you have everything you need? Here are some ideas: water, snacks, a journal, and a pen. Looking to enhance your hike? Ask a Nature Center Attendant about renting a FREE Nature Exploration Pack and/or binoculars.
