All of the trees in this area are native to Pennsylvania, and were planted within the last thirty years. Depending on the season, a stroll through the woodlot will provide a feast for the eyes. You might spot plant species like paw paw trees, jack in the pulpit, a plant with green and brown striped hoods, and Virginia bluebell flowers. This area is also home to wildlife like white-tail deer, grey fox, tree swallows, eastern bluebirds, and woodchucks. Please take as much time as you'd like to enjoy this stop, and look for wonders of nature.
We thank you for taking part in the Peter Wentz Farmstead self-guided tour! We hope you enjoyed learning a little more about the farmstead and the natural landscapes on the property. Please consider returning to the Peter Wentz Farmstead for a tour of the historic house, or for any one of the scheduled upcoming events. To return to your car, follow the trail through the wood lot. It will turn right and then meet with a paved road. Walk up the paved road, and the parking lot will be a few yards up the road, on your right.
