After a long period of ill health, John Wedlin passed quietly away on July 29, 1932 at age 70. According to the paper, John was a miner of the old school, quiet, industrious, honest, and respected by all who knew him. He had been a resident of Silver for 33 years. Being of a reticent disposition, little was known as to his relatives beyond the fact that he had a niece in Chicago with whom he corresponded regularly. He was a native of Sweden and unmarried.
