The Waterfall and ice house were originally functional, with ice from the pond stored in the ice house as a natural refrigerator. A pump cascades water over the rocks, offering views of the River Suir—one of three “sister rivers.” Alongside it runs a 46 km walk for walkers and cyclists, with scenic views toward Dungarvan and the Comeragh Mountains. The nearby railway from Kilmeaden to Waterford provides another picturesque way to see the estuary.
