Susan B. Anthony

Feb 15th, 1820-1906

Adams, MA

“Wherever women gather together failure is impossible.”

“Organize, agitate, educate, must be our war cry.”

Anthony played an important role in the women’s suffrage movement. She worked beside Elizabeth Cady Stanton for over 50 years on social reform through the creation of a series of organizations: the American Equal Rights Association, which worked on equal rights for blacks and women, and the National Woman Suffrage Association. She also wrote for the publication “The Revolution”. The 19th Amendment was known as the Susan B. Anthony Amendment. She dedicated her entire life to the cause, unfortunately she died 14 years before it was finally ratified.
