I was built in 1835 and was the home of Star Rock Dairy Farm. In fact, my current owners have antique glass milk bottles that are imprinted with my original name. I was owed by members of the Batchelder family who were well known property owners and farmers in the Seacoast area. In fact, I was a two-family house in which different family members lived until I was sold to my current owner. I’ve been updated and renovated to be a single-family home, but I still have many original features, including three working fireplaces and wide pine floor boards.
The barn you are looking at is the original 1835 structure that once housed dairy cows. Today, it’s home for donkeys, goats and chickens.
Many years ago, a large rock - believed to be a meteor - that had fallen onto my property was moved to Lincoln Akerman School. It sits in front of the parking area on Route 88.
