Carousel

The wagon wheel and suspended gourds were real scenery on Mark Bailey's farm below Hawk Mountain. I used them as an artistic metaphor for autobiographical purposes. The post represents my father, the wheel my mother, and the gourds myself and my siblings. I termed the painting “Carousel” as a reference to the whirling and unexpected nature of life. Sometimes we even get lucky, reach out, and grab the brass ring.
