1964 700 CABRIOLET
BMW’s boxer twin could power a microcar as well as a motorcycle, and it did so with aplomb in the 700 introduced in 1959. With stylish bodywork by Giovanni Michelotti and peppy performance, the 700 became known as “The Workingman’s Porsche.” The 700 cabriolet seen here is displayed in honor of Safet Hatic, who restored it with Paul Callahan just prior to his death in 2021. “Safet had the vision and the knowledge as well as years of experience, and his attention to detail shows in every part of this car,” Paul says.
