Todd Edward Herman is a visual artist and curator. He is the founding director of East Window Gallery in Boulder Colorado and co-founder of the disability performance project Sins Invalid in Berkeley California.
Todd has been the recipient of many awards for his work including the San Francisco International Film Festival's New Vision Award, Western States Media Arts Fellowship and the San Francisco Art Commission's Emerging Curator Award. He has presented his work at such venues as the International Film Festival Rotterdam, San Francisco International Film Festival, Southbank Centre, Anthology Film Archives, San Francisco Cinematheque, and Pacific Film Archives.
The work presented in the Arvada Center’s 528.0 Print Exhibit is a limited edition archival photogravure print excerpted from a larger series of photogravures titled OTHER ANATOMIES. These works began as gouache studies, were then translated to a plate via a digital negative and editioned at the studio of Jon Lybrook / Intaglio Editions. OTHER ANATOMIES is a combination of observation, emotion and alternative biology.
