The Gold Star Mothers Memorial

American Legion War Memorial and Platform

The Gold Star Mothers monument contains over a hundred crosses with the names of those KIA (Killed in Action) in World War I, II, Korea and Vietnam.   The monument includes an Anti-Tank gun.

The American Legion War Memorial is a platform and a group of crosses that list American’s wars from the Revolution through the present.  Crosses also contain inscriptions for Lost at Sea, Missing and Unknown.  The Photo shows the platform and crosses- foreground.  In the background is the Gold Star Mothers Memorial.

At this point it is time to head back to the Archway and take a left down sunset to Anderson Avenue.  Once you reach Anderson Cross the street and take a right walking towards the KSU Campus.   A ½ mile 11 minute walk will bring you to Memorial Stadium.   The Stadium is one of nine veterans’ monuments or memorials located on the Kansas State University Campus.
