Welcome to Magnolia Market, The Silos, and The Silo Baking Company as seen on the show Fixer Upper.
The Magnolia Silos have long-since been a special place in our quickly-growing city of Waco, Texas. Ask anyone’s grandparents, and they’d be able to tell you how they clearly remember the silos standing tall back when they were just kids. In fact, back in those days, everyone hated the Silos because of the strong smell produced in making cottonseed oil.
The Silos stand 120-feet high and were built in 1950 as part of the Brazos Valley Cotton Oil Company.
The grounds opened to the public in October 2015. The complex is owned by Chip and Joanna Gaines, TV personalities best known for HGTV's Fixer Upper TV series.
The grounds include a 12,000 sq. ft. retail store located in the historic grain barn and office building, a food truck park with picnic tables, a garden store, bakery, and lawn area. Admission to the grounds is free except during special events.
All I can say is that everyone LOVES JOANNA'S BISCUITS... The cupcakes, however, are all baked in that tiny little building, and they are all hand-frosted, in that tiny little building.
Waco on average gets 50,000 visitors every week... and on a busy weekend, we get as many as 250,000 people in just two days. We are the second-fastest-growing destination in the country right now... and... its... only... getting worse.
...
You did know that they are expanding the Silos right?
The Silos will be twice the size they are today. They are adding a furniture store, more retail space and they are building a replica of an old antique Church. They are also building... a gigantic whiffle ball field... and once they are done with all of that... at the end of 2020... we will truly be... REDNECK DISNEYLAND.
