No. 1-3 Denmark Street - Thirteen

Numbers 1 to 3 Denmark Street, dating back to the 1930s, are notably remembered as the location of the Job Centre where serial murderer Dennis Nilsen was employed for eight years beginning in 1974. During the period from 1978 to 1983, Nilsen committed the murders of at least 12 young men at his home in North London.

Today, the site has been transformed; Number 3 now hosts a cocktail bar that marks the entrance to Denmark Street in London's vibrant Soho neighbourhood.

This bar is part of the Chateau Denmark hotel and hospitality complex, which opened its doors in 2023. It is described as an "all-day hangout," where visitors can relish drinks and small plates in a lively atmosphere, enhanced by a carefully curated music selection.

Thirteen guarantees good times and a great beat, while our underground haunt dial8 they say, is expressly for those who know. The venue is adorned with photographs of some of the most beloved characters from the area, celebrating its rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Welcome to Denmark Street Radio's tour of London's Legendary Street of Sound. Tour time approx. 40 minutes.
