Physical pixel is how one can refer to any of the painted blocks. Their creation morphed out of an extensive exploration of non-traditional canvas surfaces for paintings. They are mostly made from repurposed, sometimes reshaped scrap wood.
Some are brick and cinder block. A lot of the coloration color palette is reference to the red-green-blue color mixing method of TV and computer monitors. The ideal setting for a physical pixel is somewhere in the real world, like beside a restaurant table napkin dispenser on top a light switch inside the public library or wedged between fence slats dividing a backyard and alleyway.
