Triage & Store room

Walking into triage, on your left, you will notice the Emergency procedures box and Evacuation map on the wall. When evacuating the triage area, you also need to take patients in the ambulance bays, triage corridoor, St John Ambulance crew, staff in the store room and all the waiting room people.

The evacuation point for triage is the corner near the ambulance entry point and the bins. Please see the evacuation plan on the wall, for a visual location.

Now find the 2 fire extinguishers at Triage.

They are locate at the Triage desk area. There are no lockable metal fire extinguisher cabinets at triage, therefore they are mounted on brackets. Triage has a Carbon Monoxide and Water fire extinguisher. Did you find them?

Duress alarms are located under the computer desks. Watch your knees, you can accidently set them off!

Now walk to the waiting room. Out side the security office, on the door frame, is a Break Glass Alarm.

Now walk towards the triage store room.

Walking into the TRIAGE STORE ROOM, you will notice there is a fire extinguisher located on the back wall. This is a Carbon Monoxide Fire extinguisher.

To the right of the extinguisher is the emergency exit evacuation door. This door can be opened by breaking the white DOOR RELEASE box. The door is alarmed and will activate a alarm when opened.

There is a break glass alarm located here also.

This area is a safety point and should remain clear of equipment at all times. If you see equipment blocking the door, please remove it.

When exiting the store room, at the sliding door, is another white door release box, this can be used if you get stuck in the store room

The first 3 to 10 minutes of an emergency are crucial. Never put your self at risk. Never evacuate past the hazard or fire. Never go in and out the fire door. Once out, STAY OUT.

Now off to the resus bays.
