Icon of the Virgin Mary

At the back of the cathedral, on your left, you will see a large Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This Icon was given to the parish by a Greek Orthodox member of our Cathedral congregation in the 1970's. It was painted in a monastery by a monk who fasted and prayed for many days in preparation. Every brush stroke is put on with a prayer: Icons are created to communicate truth; they are a window into Heaven from which shines a great light. A message of truth is being communicated to the beholder.

The next station is locatedĀ on the opposite side of the Cathedral.
