Sight

Now, let’s focus on sight — the sense that helps us take in the colours, shapes, and details of the world around us.
Take a moment to look closely at the plants near this stop. You might recognise some from the photos on the sign.

The Orange Thorn, or Pittosporum multiflorum, shows off its clusters of bright orange berries — a favourite for many birds.
Nearby, the Flax Lily, Dianella revoluta, catches the eye with its deep green leaves and vibrant blue berries that glisten in the sunlight.
Look up and you might see the Cabbage Palm, Livistona australis, stretching its long green fronds high into the air.
And along the ground, the Snake Vine, Hibbertia scandens, winds its way through the undergrowth, decorated with large, yellow flowers that open to greet the sun.

What else can you notice? Are there insects visiting the flowers? Are some berries ripening while others are gone — perhaps eaten by wildlife?
Use your eyes to explore the colours, shapes, and life all around you. Every plant has its own story — and together, they make up the rich, living picture of the wetlands
