Military Engineering Exploits - Catapult

Leonardo's ongoing interest in military engineering began in his earliest years. He filled many pages of his notebooks with drawings of suggested improvements to the catapult, one of the oldest weapons of war. In these designs, he experimented with ideas about the elasticity of materials and the varying of tension, hoping to send the stone further, with greater force, and with more accuracy against the enemy.
