The tour provides the same information as the in-person, English-language tour. It can be used by docents and aspiring docents as a learning aid. It can be used by non-docents to give a tour to lead guests throughout the museum. It can also be used as a self-guided tour by guests with the use of headphones or ear buds.
Please note the following:
1. The titles at the top of each stop are simply for organizational purposes and should not be said to guests.
2. There are occasional purposeful misspellings in the text. This preserves the proper pronounciation of certain names and other words (like "led" for "lead" when referencing the pipes in the house) when using the computer generated voiceover. Your indulgence is appreciated.
3. The text in italics is optional although it does contain interesting and pertinent information.
4. German surnames are spelled correctly but often mispronouced by the voice over. Pietsch is pronounced "Peach" and the plural "Peaches." Deimer is pronounced "Dye-ma" with an undervoiced "r" at the end. Van Depoele is pronounced "Van de POLE." Van Stratum's name is misspelled to approximate the proper pronounciation.
Hearthstone thanks MBPhotography for use of many of the wonderful interior shots featured in this tour like the one on this page.
